Binance’s U.S. affiliate, Binance.US, has named Stephen Gregory as its new CEO. The change takes effect from March 9, 2026.
Gregory replaces Norman Reed, who will stay on as an advisor. The company hopes a compliance-focused CEO can stabilize operations under growing U.S. regulatory scrutiny.
Gregory brings extensive experience from senior roles at Currency.com, Gemini, and CEX.io. He has deep expertise in licensing, regulation, and crypto compliance frameworks.
Under his leadership, Binance.US plans to expand its Earn and staking offerings. The platform will also focus on easier access to DeFi and tokenized assets while maintaining strict compliance.
The move aims to position Binance.US as a regulated, U.S.-focused crypto exchange, separate from its offshore parent brand. It seeks to reassure banks, investors, and policymakers that the platform can operate cleanly.
Success could help Binance.US grow market share and compete with major U.S. platforms like Coinbase and Kraken, offering broader services and competitive fees.
The appointment signals a clear shift: Binance.US wants to be seen as a compliance-first exchange while continuing to provide innovative crypto services.
