Cryptocurrency markets saw sharper losses. Bitcoin fell about 9% from its mid-week peak near $95,500 to around $86,650 on Friday, with prices dipping further to roughly $84,463 in early Saturday reports. Analysts linked the decline to profit-taking, regulatory concerns in the U.S., and weakness across global equities. Ethereum also dropped about 7%, and the broader crypto market value fell by around 8%.
Market turbulence this week was shaped by economic data releases and major corporate earnings. Nvidia reported strong quarterly results, including revenue of $51.2 billion and adjusted earnings above expectations. CEO Jensen Huang said the company has “visibility” into more than $500 billion in revenue stretching into 2026, driven by high demand for AI chips.
Despite the upbeat outlook, Nvidia shares fell after the announcement. Analysts noted that concerns over a potential AI investment bubble and broader market uncertainty outweighed the company’s strong performance.
Traders Prepare for a Shortened Week
Attention now turns to a holiday-shortened week in the U.S., with markets closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving and operating reduced hours on Friday. Lower trading volumes are expected to increase the risk of sudden price swings.
