Coinbase is developing a prediction markets platform using Kalshi’s regulated infrastructure, according to leaked screenshots shared by tech researcher Jane Manchun Wong. The images show a dedicated website with branded market pages, an FAQ section, and onboarding guides.
The platform will be offered through Coinbase Financial Markets, the exchange’s derivatives arm, in partnership with Kalshi. Users will be able to trade using USDC or U.S. dollars. Categories shown include economics, sports, science, politics, and technology.
Prediction markets have grown rapidly in 2024 and 2025. Platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket reported record trading volumes as users placed bets on political, economic, and cultural events.
Coinbase has said it plans to expand into prediction markets as part of its “everything exchange” strategy. On Nov. 13, Coinbase and Kalshi announced a partnership allowing Coinbase to act as custodian for Kalshi’s USDC-based event contracts.
Other crypto firms are also entering the sector. Crypto.com launched a prediction market in partnership with Trump Media. Gemini is developing a similar platform and has filed with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer regulated event contracts.
Separately, Coinbase launched Coinbase Business in Singapore, marking its first international rollout for business-focused services. The platform offers instant USDC payments, global transfers, accounting integrations, and digital asset management. It builds on Coinbase’s BLOOM Initiative with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and provides cross-border payments through real-time banking with Standard Chartered.
